Welcome

Welcome to the homepage of Maurice Heemels. I am working within the inspiring Control System Technology group at the Eindhoven University of Technology, The Netherlands.

My research is oriented towards general system and control theory with an emphasis on the study of hybrid systems that exhibit both discrete and continuous dynamics, networked and large-scale systems and optimisation-based control techniques. In particular, I focus on shaping the foundations of developing multi-disciplinary design techniques, which include

By working closely with my students and staff, we tackle challenging research projects on the frontier of science in cooperation with our international academic community and industrial partners. Particular applications include hyperthermia treatments to improve the efficacy of cancer therapies, large-scale control and optimisation for precision agriculture, thermal control and nuclear fusion reactors (tokamaks), automated and cooperative driving, hybrid control for the high-tech industry to overcome fundamental performance limitations, and many more.

Feel free to explore the site to learn more about my research and the team of talented researchers who work with me!
